Every business has a beginning.
30 years ago ours started in a backyard.
Ian Jack was designing and manufacturing what would become the patented Safe-T-Grate system. There were no fancy offices and no big workshops. Just a good idea, plenty of determination and a willingness to roll up his sleeves and get the job done … and we don’t think too much has changed since then.
What began with drainage grates and custom steel solutions gradually evolved into something much bigger. One project led to another, one relationship became many, and before long Jack Engineering had earned a reputation for quality workmanship and reliability across both the residential and commercial construction and building scene.
Fast forward 30 years, Jack Engineering operates out of our custom built fabrication workshops in Hastings, and is home to 17 of the finest crew in the industry.
During the evolution of Jack Engineering we've had the privilege of helping build homes, landmarks and communities across Victoria. From structural steel frameworks hidden behind walls to architectural features that become the hero of a project, our work can be found in thousands of places across the state.
With Ian's creative flair still influencing the business, and the team being led by the next generation, we're combining decades of experience with modern manufacturing, stronger systems and a clear vision for the future. While keeping the humble beginnings of this treasure close to our hearts.
We're still family owned, lead and run. We're still relationship driven. We're still obsessed with quality. And we're still proud of every piece of steel that leaves our workshop. We've come a long way from the backyard, and while we're proud of our history, we're even more excited about what's next.
